ArtRage is a Polish publishing house specializing in world literary fiction. We publish predominantly foreign literature in translation, spanning from niche and forgotten classics to compelling debuts and the renowned figures of modern prose such as Jon Fosse, Sebastian Barry, Ann Burns, Steve Sem-Sandberg, Stefan Hertmans, Jokha Al-Harthi, Mia Couto, Mircea Cărtărescu and Arturo Pérez-Reverte. We’re also keen on contemporary Polish prose, with an emphasis on discovering and supporting emerging authors and cultivating strong new voices.
Despite being founded just three years ago in 2021, ArtRage has already have been twice lauded as the best publisher in the country. The reason is quite straightforward: we strive for excellence at every stage of the publishing process, from the selection of authors, titles, and people we work with, all the way to the meticulous processes of editing and cover design. This commitment has yielded significant results – ArtRage is frequently likened to iconic European publishing houses such as Fitzcarraldo Editions.
In the upcoming years, we plan to invest in brilliant debuts and historical prose by Polish writers capable of melding the potency of an original voice with skilful storytelling. In our view, great literature embodies both these qualities in equal proportions. We’re only just getting started, but if there is one thing we can promise, it’s plenty of superb new fiction to come.
